Colleagues:
The culture of our College is critical to building trust, engagement, and collaboration across all Schools and departments. Today’s work environment looks very different from when COESCAC was established in 2017. We are all faced with the challenges of the pandemic, including working from home, sometimes at odd hours, in an environment that often comes with family constraints. From firsthand experience, it is no easy task to manage young children who are learning online!
Home and work life are blurring, which comes with its own set of challenges. You have all been incredibly nimble during these unprecedented times, and your work ethic and commitment to the College has remained unwavering. I truly thank you for that.
The mental health of our staff is extremely important to me. As I’ve said before, it’s ok not to be ok. Life as we know it has changed, but I have seen the resiliency in each of you as you continue to carry out the mission of our College: To inspire and prepare a community of inclusive and community-driven engineering students and faculty.
The College’s Staff Culture Advisory Council was established to create professional development initiatives, recognition programs, and increased opportunities for you. We will continue to provide Staff Engagement Day for everyone to convene, network, and collaborate.
As we gradually return to in-person events around campus, I look forward to seeing you face-to-face and virtually in order to learn how we can improve and build upon our College culture. Thank you for everything you are doing to support Georgia Tech and one another.
Best,
